The city of Belfast, Northern Ireland's capital and largest city, is a treasure trove of architectural styles. From the Victorian-era buildings in the Cathedral Quarter to the art deco gems on Royal Avenue, from the Italianate villas of Belvoir Terrace to the warehouses that line Queen's Quay, this compact city has an eclectic look. The brick houses built after World War II have been dubbed 'Belfast Boxes' for their uniform shape and size.
The city also has a number of green spaces including Belvoir Park and the Belfast Castle grounds which are popular with locals and visitors alike because they offer seclusion from urban life without being too far from it altogether. Belfast is also home to the Ulster Museum, which has a large collection of Irish and European art, as well as the Titanic Experience, a museum dedicated to the ill-fated ship.
