    Seven Lochs Wetland Park (Lochend Burn)

    Let your eyes feast on the beautiful meadow and fields beyond as you walk beside Lochend Burn. In summer, this grassy area is full of wildflowers that buzz with insects-colourful butterflies flying around marshy banks or dragonflies zipping between pools of water at alarming speeds! The path alongside it makes great territory for jogging, walking or pushing the little ones along in their pushchair!

    Garscadden Wood (East)

    While you stand among the old oaks of this ancient woodland, a local nature reserve in Glasgow where one can enjoy and learn more about wildlife; it's easy to forget that we're still right here in Glasgow. The two Woods at Garscadden are important because they both contain a species found hardly anywhere else in the city - the purple hairstreak butterfly!

    Garscadden Wood (West)

    Cochno Hill

    Lennox Forest

    Lennox Forest is criss-crossed with wide, winding roads that make it easy to find a circuit just the right length for your walk or ride. You can start from Lennoxtown or follow bridleways which will take you into nearby Torrance as well if desired; there are glimpses of long views down towards Glasgow making this trail a popular one with locals all year round.

    Bar Hill

    As you climb Bar Hill, the forest is a colourful patchwork of broadleaf and conifer trees. There are wonderful views of the Forth and Clyde Canal as you climb, with its waters connecting parts of central Scotland. On top is a Roman fort that stands guard over what once was an ancient kingdom and the Antonine Wall.

    Howwood

    From the wide, uneven gravel paths that lead up a steep hill through ancient woodland and grassland comes one of nature’s best panoramas with views over Kilpatrick Hills as well as Ben Lomond. Best to remember the camera for this one at Howwood!

    Nethercroy

    The Croy Hill has some of the best preserved sections of the Antonine Wall that once stretched over 37 miles long. This was once part Roman Empire's northernmost frontier but is now gorgeous woods where butterflies thrive and newts call home as well! In summertime, there are flowers everywhere including sweetly scenting lesser and white orchids which can be found at Nethercroy too!

    Campsie Glen

    Overtoun House

    If you're looking for a place to explore, then Overtoun House is an ideal starting point. It's not only beautiful but also full of history and mystery!
