Swansea is the second-largest city in Wales with a population of around 312,000. It's also one of the UK's most important ports. The city has an airport and historically was home to coal mining, steel production, tinplate manufacturing and sugar beet processing industries. Swansea University is located within the city boundaries providing education for 20,000 students each year.

The city centre has a mix of traditional and modern shops, bars and restaurants. The newly developed Quadrant Shopping Centre provides over 30 stores. The city's main thoroughfare is Wind Street which is home to many popular pubs and clubs.

Swansea Bay is one of the UK's most popular tourist destinations. The award-winning Swansea Marina is the largest in Wales and offers a variety of shops, restaurants, bars and a children's soft play area. The bay is also home to several beaches including Langland Bay, Caswell Bay and Three Cliffs Bay which are all popular for surfing, swimming and sunbathing.
